I just about lost it in church today

We learned in church today that late last week, one of the teens from our church was playing baseball and got hit in the chest by a fastball when he tried to bunt. He made it to first base, but immediately collapsed. The hit had stopped his heart. A nurse in the stands ran out and was able to get his heart and breathing started via CPR. He was rushed to a hospital about 100-120 miles away where he was put under the care of the specialist. He's doing fine with some bruising on his heart. The word from the specialist is that this sort of injury has somehwere around a 90% fatality rate.

After this announcement and prayer, we started our worship service with hymns that people had requested a couple weeks ago. The first song was "Family of God." While we were singing the first verse, I got hit hard by the lyrics and had to fight back tears while my voice faltered and ultimately choked:

You will notice we say "brother and sister" 'round here,
It's because we're a family and these are so near;
When one has a heartache, we all share the tears,
And rejoice in each victory in this family so dear.

Even now, I'm tearing up. The choice and placement of this song was made days before the accident happened. I cannot but know that God's hand was at work here. What a powerful and comforting message! Praise God!
